Guys, I'm sorry, no one here told me that the hens can split peach, i got confused between this idea and the fact that sex linked colors hens can be split for another color, i'm sorry again.
Yeah, anyway....... when did you buy these and why have we seen no pictures yet?????????????![]()
I was also told many times that a sexlink color can not be split, wonder who found out it could.Probably opening a can of worms here, but isn't Peach a sex-linked color and therefore hens cannot be split to it?
Thank you, i'm trying to find peach peahen to get more chances of having peach offspring, but no luck yet, i just found this video so i guess the hen in the back is one of the opal silver pied hens, her tail is gray, of course i will get better look on her on Friday and properly will many pictures of them.q8peafowl,,yes I did have some IB males that I hatched from eggs that was supposed to be split to peach.I find the odds of using two like birds that are both "split" to another color as in 2 IB both split to peach and actually getting the split or any offspring by that matter being the split color way to low to be feasible. Having to hatch out over 60 chicks to hopefully get the "split" color doesn't make economical sense.
I have ib bssp hens,,I have opal b/s hens (no Opal bssp yet) and one noticable diffrence is the longest tail feathers. The bssp ib hens has black on the end of their tails, where the opals has gray feathers. Neck feathers on the ib bssp hens will have a ring of carmel colored feathers close to the tops of their necks,,I don't think opals would have this. My young Opal bs hens are very close to being 100% white in color, except for the tail feathers being lite gray.
I have two Opal b/s males and hatched a barred winged Opal who's father is my oldest Opal b/s male,, I plan on breeding straight Opal b/s,,Barred winged Opal, and putting 2 bssp hens in with my oldest male hoping to keep their young knowing they have at least 1 copy of white and maybe pied and all should be b/s.
