IBW...with Pics!

Yes!

My does make really good milk rich with cream. In a quart jar it will rise about 3/4 of an inch or more on top. A friend who has goats of a similar breed but mostly nubian doesn't get near the cream.

My older girl is 75% saanan 25% nubian the other is 50% saanan 25% nubian and 25% tog. She makes incredible milk too.

The older one has milked through 2 years and has kidded every year possible She milked throug her last kidding. I have let her dry off and did not breed her this time. She needs a break. The other doe I don't want to breed right now. The 4 younger does are up to weight and are now breedable - I just have to find the right bucks for the job.

Sorry for hijacking this topic and talking about goats.

LOL!! oh geez, Lisa, that's funny! Of course, if I had to list all the goofy things I've done, we'd all be here for a while..

Well, after the two this morning, nothing new. I've been hearing eggs talking to me this afternoon, so I'm thinking the second wave is on the way. Day 21 started at 5 pm central (not 3 pm like I'd originally thought). I'm hoping that the rest of them are taking some time to get themselves re-combobulated (did I just invent a word?) after being bowled around all day yesterday by all those busy-bodies cruising the hatcher waiting to dry.

My biggest challange so far has been keeping the humidity up. I have all the vents open, and with this dry winter air, I'm probably adding water every 3 hours or so, day and night. I'm able to keep up with it, but it really cuts into sleep time. I think I finally fell asleep at about 4:30 am, so I've been in a bit of a haze today.
