We're probably going to get hit this weekend as well. It's supposed to really start up around 7:00 p.m. tonight. I guess the REAs are putting out the word to be ready for power outages. Is it bad that I'm not too worried? We have a generator that will run our well pump and the heat and a few other things as needed (including the computers, my husband says, but I told him I won't hope for that). We can turn everything off at night and just throw a few extra blankets on the beds. My husband is stopping by the grocery store for a few things that we needed anyway, but there's really no chance of us having to go hungry. The only thing the generator won't run is the water heater, but as long as I can heat enough water on a stove of some sort to do a sponge bath type thing for my daughter and myself and wash our hair, we'll be fine. My husband doesn't mind running around without cleaning, sorry to say. I'm making some food tonight that can be reheated ad-infinitum as well. We have plenty of gas on hand, and my husband is filling up his pick up on the way home so that if we do run out we can syphon some off and use it. And if things really hit the fan, we've got camp stoves that are easily accessible and we have oil lamps and the like.
The only problem I do have is with work. We're having our annual meeting at church this week (if it isn't canceled) and so I needed to run a quick report for that. I'm having my husband stop by the church to do that for me instead.
Okay, and not having a clock at night is going to be a major pain if the power goes out...
