It sounds like that it will look great when its done!Michael and I are screening in a weird patio area right outside my home office. It will serve as a screen room for dining, reading, visiting with Kelly, and drinking coffee while Jack and Diane hee-haw for carrots.
The patio is two stories high with the master bedroom and guest room window overlooking.
View of the ceiling on the opposite side.
The steps go up to my home office and my big window will be looking out onto the screen room. In the opening to the right will be a sliding glass door which you can see in the trailer. Glass company is coming today to measure for glass to go in that odd shape above where the door will be. The board on the cement floor is where the screen wall and screen door will be. We are building a pony wall to match the height and siding of the dark green part of the house and the screen will be above that 36" high wall. Directly across the room from the door to my office will be a screen door. The room will be large enough for some nice patio furniture and............
my incubators and brooders! See the brown chair in the corner to the right? That is where the electric is. I am going to install some bottom cabinets and a countertop and move my incubators out there. Under my window I am going to build a couple of predator proof brooders. I might even buy some funky old cabinet thing to turn into brooders. The room with be pretty secure but anything that wanted to rip the screen and come in would be able to. That is why I want them secure. I will not be using heat lamps, just an Eco-glow brooder in each one. I am planning to stain the concrete floor to make it prettier. I am really excited to have a space to incubate and brood chicks away from the dust and dander of the barn and out of my garage and office. I have two teeny tiny cochins in here with me now and I could honestly dust every hour and it wouldn't be enough! Our cars are covered in dust in the garage all the time. With the screen room I will just fire up the leaf blower than get-r-done!
EXCITED! I am going to save my chicken money for a cabinet incubator I think. I'll get the Brinsea's calibrated and sell them too! Anyway, just wanted to share my plans.
