Icelandic Chickens

I took a break from the million-posts-an-hour Easter Hatch thread to pop in here and I'm so glad I did.

Kathy, I know phoney snow when I see it, or maybe "photo shopped," besides it doesn't say what state they are in. This could have been just a once in a lifetime snow storm - doesn't count at all.
Plus which, for all I know the emu's could have frozen to death a half hour later. But of course, NO photos of that!
This is from the road, looking toward the back of that area. Are there too many trees for them? Will they like, ummm, run in to them?

Wow that's a far piece to fence for the emu's maybe you could put them on tie out chains, or just shackle one ankle like game cocks. Just kidding people!! You could put foam bumpers around the trees at emu head height to prevent concussions..

Mary should put up warning signs - "Drive slowly - emus watching."
Kathy, they MUST be where you can watch their antics. They have entertainment value - moreso than chickens!
You guys could have emu races, or emu's pulling sulkies .. I would think chasing cars would beef up their muscle and stamina
Emu Chariot Games!

This whole line of discussion had me laughing out loud

It is glorious, until this comes along.

Daron what kinds of chickens are you bringing to Chickenstock?

I may well be scouting for several D'Anvers, a couple Marans, I say 'scouting', not for me mind you, but ya never know who else can use them

It should be a great day, I am looking forward to it. I hope to meet some of the faces that go with the names I see here.

Life is good, and better with Icelandic Chickens !

This is mainly for Mary, but I thought the rest of you would get a laugh from it. This is a 2 DAY old welsummer cockerel crowing. I guess he thought he needed to beat his daddy that started crowing at 4 DAYS old.
