Icelandic Chickens

Well theres a funny story! As we were driving home i joked that they might just be so special as to lay us an egg that night! Little did i know that there would be an egg in the back once we got to the school!! I might just try the rooster seperation trick! And ill try to remember to take pics tomorrow

Separation will make the urges stronger, especially if he can see them, but hearing is good also. A week should do it.

Temps in balmy spring 60s and 70s this week with nights in the 40s.

Spring in MI, between two big lakes ! Gotta love it !

93 out there right now, on it's way up to 96 or 97. Hard Santa Ana winds from the east... leaves, twigs and blossoms from my neighbors tree filling up my pool.. I've already cleaned it three times... don't want to think what it's going to look like when I get home.

I too am interested in Icelandics. I got a grab of chicks and now believe(after looking at yours) I may have had a rooster!! I have Lavender Orpingtons and Buckeyes ( i'm in Ohio).
Any idea who I may get some from a little closer to Ohio? Thank you.

Kari its spring here in MI and I am loving it.

I am going to the Chicken Fest today in Alma, will see a couple of other Icelandic folks there, I would like to take a rooster but forgot to crate him last night. About to head out now and its still dark. Life goes on.

Hope to see some of you there!
