Two new babies hatched today. The blonde one at 4:00 a.m. and the darker one this afternoon. The third one due today has pipped. So I have seven in the brooder, eight more to hatch in the incubator and four that I will put under broody Lukka tonight. We moved her into one of the breeding coops today and she is sitting on 4 random eggs. We will swap them out tonight with four of her eggs that are on due to hatch in ten days. I am so excited about this!

Yay for even MORE new babies! They're so cute. Boy, your Icelandic flock is expanding fast! It's so wonderful.

We are definitely expanding fast! We just traded out the eggs Lukka is sitting for four from the incubator. This is the most exciting part for me. She is finally going to get her chance to be a Mama! She dutifully pecked me twice while I slid my hand under her to swap eggs. She went right back to sleep afterward.

OH, how exciting! Lukka gets to be a broody! I can hardly wait to see how she is with chicks.

What a rainbow you have, for sure! It is just amazing that every one is such an individual, and no two alike.

Beautiful! And a chipmunk-y one too! Wow! Each chick is so different! No 2 alike!

I'm so happy Lukka gets to be a mommy! I too can't wait to see how she does. Nothing sweeter than a broody with her babies. (not that I'd know from personal experience

)
