Jake, Just a heads-up on the picture loading......I had to download Chrome when BYC made some changes awhile back because I could not and can not load pictures when using Internet Explorer. It is very inconvenient when I'm in IE and want to post a picture and have to switch....sometimes I just post and then go back and edit the post after switching to Chrome. I get a pop-up advertisement here on BYC using Chrome that never shows up when using IE and I see these annoying "pass over" ads (blue lettering within a post that is a link to something else that the poster did not put in but is an obvious attempt at trying to get me to look at an ad......one is showing up now in this post where I put "download Chrome" above....I did not put it in my post and I don't know what it would do if you click on it because I won't click on anything in a post that is not a BYC thread address). These only happen when I am in Chrome. It doesn't show up with IE, so I stick with IE except when I need to post a picture.

She is a beauty Mary ! And so are her sisters !

As its turning out I have a mottled grandson of Isi ! He is one of the younger late hatch in the outside brooder. But, SC . He has til spring to see what he can be. Right now I have six roosters growing out , or waiting for freezer camp. Anyone in MI wants the line they are welcome to their choice. I have the two from Mary plus Isi, and may hold back one. But my choice for spring hatch are Marys two, and Isi on the older hens.

Mary !!

We have chicks !!

3 so far, two very dark and one a bit lighter. One other shell chipped but no other activity yet, I was beginning to think they were a no go as these are later then my other Icelandics. But late or no they are welcome ! I am checking them all often now.

Glora IS a beauty, very much like her sisters here !

I have chrome as I now use gmail, I open on IE to get one tool bar but then it seguys over to chrome, so we shall see. These ads are a constant irritant, on BYC too. It really slows up the loading, otoh, I know they pay for the site.

Rainy days, but better then snow, leaves are coming fast off the trees now.

As of right now I plan to order the Nikon first part of Nov. , then we shall see what will be. I have been shopping around, and Amazon is $100 less on the Nikon 3200, and a 200mm lens that Walmart sells for right at $700 for the two. Its simillar on several other places I have looked. There is a newer Nikon upgrade of this but this one has way more bells and whistless and capability then I will use. Its big advantage for me is the large case lets me know where my fingers are all the time, the little pocket cameras I never know where my hands and fingers are, a side gift from Vietnam and agen orange, loss of finger feeling in both hands. Life goes on and the Nikon 3200 is what works for me. Same frame as my last one.

Hopefully some chicken pics can happen, including the 'old man' Isi.

Life is good, and better with Icelandic Chickens !

C'mon chicks!! It was three weeks ago yesterday that we met so they aren't too late. Maybe the car ride slowed them up!

dont see any more pipping but they can have all weekend, as long as they want.

ALL of them are dark, no little yellow or white ones here ! This will be a fascinating set to watch as they will first be in the tub brooder and then a large quail cage, so they get to winter downstairs, forever summer down there because of the fish tanks. So I am praying for at least two as pullets. Wee shall see. These go to the tub tonight, after their first sip, and touch of chick starter, the ones from last night are doing laps around the hatcher. These are little active guys after the slow hatching, slow compared to what I am used to, this is the 21rst day, I am used to 19 or 20.

Life goes on !

Here's hoping you get more fluffballs this weekend. They sound terribly cute!

Glora is such a pretty girl. Mary, you are going to laugh me to scorn, but bear with me - is your given name actually Mary? Or is it just a nickname you picked up on the forums? I'm a wee bit confused........
