Mary, I am gonna try to get a descent picture here pretty soon. One looks brown, one black, and the 2 light ones. I really do not see blue.

Kathy, it will be neat to see your breeding of the black one. It appears as though with this breed that black is recessive.

Kathy remember your lessons with the BBS Orps...that black one could turn out to be a dark blue....look closely at the wing shaft and watch it. It took me over a week to figure out for sure that Athena was a blue.

I'm wondering about that, too! Maybe it is blue? It really looks black to us. I will have to wait and see. I love this variety in colors!

eggtopsy shows that egg #6 was a late quitter; probably day 14 - 18. The other one that pipped and died, was just huge. I think he could not turn in the egg, due to size; and probably could not breathe due to not enough room for lung expansion. He was perfect, and ready to hatch! Darn it!
