Hi All
Yes, wed when the next ones go in lockdown it will be in an egg carton, then chuck it after and save on clean-up.
Speedy and his buddy were in the brooder before noon, I had to run errands got back AT 230 and there was one more , total of this set of four hatched, out of 16 set, I attribute, maybe, to cold weather during delivery, when the carrier knocked on the door it was below freezing. Then the temperature disaster Fri of overheating and then dropping the other way over night.
So, I consider these to be four little miracles. All four are chipmunks, Tiny little guys, one is from what looks like a pullet egg,
Wed have a set from Kim Camelot, and next week on 13th another set from Mary, in July I am expecting some Iowa Blue eggs, would like to have a dozen or so of them. I think these two breeds will be aplenty.
Speedy and pal are munching turkey starter, and drinking, I give them a dip drink, or three when they come out of the hatcher. Just a quick little dip of the beak in the water and let them drink it down. When Kims set come out this weekend they will go in the same brooder, I am expecting much better results on the next two sets, even so I am a third there on what I'd like to have, at least in hens. But probably 3 roos in there .
I dont expect anymore hatches overnight. No pips right now. But will leave them in the hatcher til tomorrow afternoon. Today is the 21rst day.
Good luck everyone, may your brooders be running over !
