There's a lot of hate going on around here. The two new goats, Laverne and Shirley, and old goat Thelma, all with black faces have decided that they hate Louise who has a white head. I suspect that fact that she is mean has something to do with it too.

Well, just got a report about one of the Icelandic roos from the NYD hatch that I rehomed to Casa Grande. He looked a lot like Isi, but he was a bit smaller. Heat got to him and he died this week.

Guess we'll have to see how mine do. This week will be the test as it will be over 110 every day.
I'm hiring a neighbor boy to do the chicken chores and look after Lilly our Golden Retriever... we are cutting our vacation a day short, just so we can get back to make certain everything is being taken care of.

Sorry about dropping the chick.. I've done it twice. One time it lived, the next it didn't. Accidents happen, but you still feel badly.

Baby duck housing is done.

I took the old hospital/broody coop and cut the legs down. I installed a 25 watt red party light inside, and added fencing. I think they like it!

It was easy, as that is the corner of my chicken yard. I had the perimeter fence put in by a professional. I just covered it in bamboo for the shade and privacy. I put up the little fence for the ducks. Hopefully they will be ready to mingle in a few weeks and I can remove it. I hope they stay in that house and don't move to the chicken coop. Too messy!
