How I long for a high of 96.

Forecast for Thursday thru Monday.

Thurs: Hi:116°Lo:91°
Friday: Hi:113°Lo:90°
Sat: Hi:111°Lo:88°
Sun. Hi:112°Lo:88°
Mon. Hi:113°Lo:89°

The ten-day forecast get's us down to a balmy 110 by next Friday.

Everyday this week has been a RECORD high in Phoenix.

It's 115 in my back yard right now... down from 116.

I had one marans down but got her some cool water and she seemed to be doing better.

I've changed the water for the Icelandics twice already this afternoon.... they seem to endure better than the others.... I lost one to the heat back in early July., but it's WORSE NOW!

Ladies the pics are somewhere here on this site, I cant get them from here to here.

I will ask her where in SE ID she is, but her husband might say 'just SE Id'.

I will devote one day to finding out how to post here. Even if it does spoil the whole trip plan for not getting the other work done.

I will check that out Hillbilly, us'ns Rednecks gotta help nother.

Every night here the past week has been right at 50, with days in the low 70s.

Life IS good, even without pics, but its better with Icelandic Chickens and Pack Goats !

Another rain last night, present temp is 60, up from 50 when I got up.

Re the guns, the side pocket on the door has a great place for the .45, and not having an accesible rear wall behind me for a rifle rack both are immediately behind the drivers seat in a floor case, the .22 and the 30-30. I am hoping to get a Rem. 700 in .308 this fall. So I should be well set as long as my ammo holds out.

Shawn I learn has a neighbor, Cheryl the Lady in SE ID lives near Idaho Falls, they have Icelandic Horses and Icelandic Dogs so I am sure she has seen Icelandic Chickens on her visit to Iceland, I invited her to take a look here, I was going to get her started in the spring with a couple pairs but maybe Shawn can get it done sooner.

Okay, I am going to get back to figuring out how to post, I reread the info on posting pics, and will devote the next days to solving this dilemna.

Whether it is the early fall monsoon or whatever, the older roos are really chasing the pullets and getting hard on the young roos, I rescued two of them yesterday and one this morning and smacked Isi Isison when he wouldnt let one up.

I got the goat gate hung on the trailer yesterday, and the chickens side door finished, roosts inside, and nest box on the floor(tote) wondering about a good sized kitty litter box instead, got a week to ponder that , last major thing is to put the roof ply on. Next week will take it to get weighed then to the license bureau.

Got a week to get the sign done, 'Jakes Ark', and all that good stuff. I am really looking for some cedar rounds(posts cut in half) to face the exterior 2 bys with. Kind of a rustic touch. Its stained with a dark cabin stain. Those little homey touches as it were, or is.

Life goes on and it is good, and better with Icelandic Chickens and packgoats !

My Icelandics really enjoyed the free ranging yesterday... it certainly does save on feed....

Got down to 86 last night. It felt nice outside this morning... but it's gonna get hot. Gave them all fresh cold water this morning.

The two icelandic girls seem to lay on the same day within hours of each other, every other day.... perhaps if it cooled down a little, they'd lay more often.

I noticed that Dexter looked like he successfully mated with Bluetter last night... I have a gal that is buying some of my Ameraucana eggs and I think I'll stick a couple of Icelandics in her carton and ask if she doesn't mind doing a hatch for me.
