I refer to this one as patches

Pullet

Cockerel

First Born

I'm guessing this was from Forsaela as it was 2nd born and the darkest of the lot

Cockerel

Will divide the twins up by splitting them between posts....this will be twin one with the single comb

Pullet

this one was the last one to hatch...love the color of this one!

Pullet.

last but not least...the other twin (the one without a SC)

Iffy - coloring right now looks pullet, but that comb is awfully pronounced. Could go either way. Take another picture of this one in a couple more weeks.

Next month I will be able to ship Icelandic eggs. Mine are two different bloOd lines. It's 12 outside and I do not give them heating. Only lighting.

I have an ad in the hatching egg other ( accidentally put it there when putting my duck eggs in there. Same mistake with the Swedish flower hens)

Mbmess your birds are gorgeous! I'm do jealous you have the outside already! It's -16 celcuis here with the windchill:( I especially like the last blueish one. I took inventory of my chicks today and noticed the awesome feathering coming in on my Icelandic!!!!! Praying for pullet!

Very beautiful feathering! I hope she is a pullet too. I agree, outside would be great. Our birds are all cooped up until this deep freeze leave us. -45* F windchills this morning and it had been colder earlier. Yuck!

love the feather pattern on that one....x2 it's a pullet!

ugh...i spent time in KS and MO (3+ years) when i was stationed in the army. that was cold enough for me. What got me was the wind in KS. it didn't matter which way you were facing it was blowing in your face and chilled you to the bone when out in the field doing maneuvers.

We had decent weather last week it was +5 . So much nicer to have the barn doors open and the water not frezzing. This week is going to be bad around -10 all week burr! And yes mbmess the wind is the worst part. Hopefully it warms for next week but my chicks won't be able to go out till march at the earliest :(

I have put over 20 Icelandic eggs in my bator last night as a test hatch. Yup, my Icelandics are starting laying well now, getting about 5 eggs from 7 pullets! I like to test hatch on all of my breeds before I start selling the eggs, so that way I know that the chicks are healthy when they hatch, no genetic issues, etc.

Well I'm jealous. I am so ready for my Icelandics to start laying so that I can incubate some eggs and see how they do! I would love to get another girl for the flock from the ones I have now, especially if it were a blue, black, or white pullet

Love the chick pictures! It's so fun to see the progress of everyone's birds. Janelle, that coloring is so pretty! I hope that one is a girl for you, too.

My cockerel that got beat up is doing alright this morning. He's getting plenty of food and water (and treats) and a warm cage to sleep in, and he's pretty perky. I'm relieved. I was so mad when I found him last night.
