Icelandic Chickens

Kathy, I think what I like best about Romeo is the dark color of his shanks. Both my roos have yellow shanks and one of my girls too. Anna's are dark here-and-there but Romeo's are very striking. Must be a genetic link to the darker feathering, Anna, too, is darker.

I have 3 new pips, still no chicks and I have a dinner engagement after work so I won't be home till late

I took a short video of what happens when I open the Icelandic brooder, but I haven't figured out how to load it, I hope I can figure it out, it's not as funny as speeding emus but I think it'll make you all smile.

DD#1 took these last night, I am liking the crest on this girl.

Kathy the chicks are adorable! That is so cool that you can hatch and sell the chicks. It is weird around here. I see sales of new chicks on Craigslist all the time but the listing just seems to expire and then get relisted. You must be hooked up better than Craigslist. I can't even sell my gorgeous cochin pair for $20 on Craigslist! I'll bet the bator they came out of if full again, right?

Michelle you have some mighty pretty birds there! Keep the pics coming. I love the pics!

dldolan, no the emus don't run that fast all the time but much of it. They take frequent breaks where their little legs just collapse like an elevator and they go down. They are very fond of naps as well. They play hard and they rest hard too.

Hi KathyinMo

what breeds are those all? Seems like some little guys in there too, quite a colorful selection !

New Hampshires, Barred Rocks, Jersey Giants, Olive Eggers, black Ameraucanas, Delawares, Lavender Orps.

Not that any of us would believe her, of course.
