I let the babies out for the first time today. They didn't venture very far. But, they couldn't get back in if they wanted to because one of Kathy's New Hampshires is blocking the pop door!

On the heat packs.. The end of March Kathy sent a box of chicks to me, I think there were 16 or 18 chicks and she had one heat pack in there. We were still getting snow so it was very cold out yet. The chicks did not arrive till the second day and the heat pack was still warm. Only one chick did not survive the trip.

Thanks for asking Kathy. Kelly calls every morning for an update too! He is walking with one back leg a little stiff and favoring it but other than that he looks fine. He scared the heck out of us today. From the house we saw him sprawled out on the ground in the chicken corral. I called to him and he barely moved an ear. Michael and I hurried down to him, Michael warning me all the way "it doesn't look good." In true goat fashion he was sound asleep in the sunshine!
