Well, I still feel like I'm living in a nightmare.
It's just not the same without my Icelandics and without Geoffrey my BWA roo. I mourn every time I walk into the back yard.
The neighbors signed the affidavit so I can keep 20 hens and they both said they didn't mind the roos, but sometimes in the heat of the summer they get stinky and the wind blows the stink over the wall. They also hate all of the birds that my feeding the chickens brings so I'm going to get a treadle feeder and feed exclusively inside.
Boston has committed to have a separate Icelandic pen in his barn in Heber so that makes me happy.
I guess from now on when I replace older hens I'll just have to order female chicks and use Laree's brooder.
I did keep one black tufted Icelandic hen, we couldn't catch her when Boston came so I finally caught her and put her in the coop... she is my last little bit of happy memory that I have left.
it doesn't take long to do chores now.
