Icelandic Chickens

I couldn't faint. I was in the middle of screwing up my blog and possible losing all the work I have done over the last two and a half years. I had to keep my sanity.

Welcome Rodeoclown! I don't have any hatching eggs (not of the Icelandic kind). There's lots of people here I'm sure can hook you up!

Other Mary............sorry, she's lookin like a pancake. You'd better get those eggs ready to give her!

. You just raise hooligans! Glad you got your blog fixed.

OK, I think I win the Icelandic Escape Award for today and it isn't even 9:00 a.m. yet! I was talking to Kelly on the phone when I looked out my window and saw a baby Icelandic on top of the netting that covers my chicken yard! I hung up on Kelly and hurried out to try to get her down but not before snapping some photos and video of the rescue. She must have climbed up the fig tree and out one of the small openings of netting around the trunk and then onto the net. Look closely at the arrow. This is 9 feet off the ground!

Here's a close-up! Notice how the broody and her babies have climbed to the top of their coop to get a better view of the action.

Stay tuned. Film of the rescue at 11:00!

Correction: On closer video inspection, it's a little cockerel! Go figure!
