Crossroads is one big show I really want to see sometime. Have a great time Kathy,
foggy this morn, but no rain, yet, if, the snow holds off I might get both sheds done, I am hoping so, ifnot, not. We'll see. I keep expanding them, in my mind, need to damper that and stay with the plan.
I am looking forward to hearing how the Icelandics handle the winter in various parts of the country, I am expecting well. Winters here are similar in temps to MI, but more snow, so the shed gets a pretty steep pitch, and extra roof support. They will have a heater under the waterer, maybe a heat lamp. Ditto the 2nd shed if I get it done, if so it can hold hay this winter.
I know that some of the early Icelandic setlers had all of their livestock under roof with them, maybe thats where Stellas wandering came from, looking for the warmest bed?
Google Icelandic sagas or search
amazon, you will get some fascinating insights to early life in Iceland, besides the historical info. It was vastly different from what we have today. Strong people and strong livestock.
Re: driving, my move, with side trips was 3180 miles, from northern MI to NE WA, and fascinating, through some of my favorite parts of our beautiful country ! We are blessed far more then we realize. !
Life is good, and better with Icelandic Chickens and Pack Goats !
