Idaho?

Anyone from the North Idaho area have lavenders? Looking to introduce the gene into my flock. Would like to start with a cockerel to save in time. The breed doesn't matter so much as I am most interested in the color.

Ha! I saw your craigslist ad last night, are you in Sandpoint? You might try contacting pips&peeps, she's in Newman Lake and breeds Ameraucanas, I just don't remember if she has Lavenders. Some on on craigslist sold a flock of lavander orps a few months ago, wish I had grabbed them!

I called the sheriff because of our previous dealing with the crazy neighbor but even though he agrees Porter was probably shot, there is no proof.. I hate to think the neighbor shot him but don't know what else it could be... It is exactly in the location of a "kill shot" for those that hunt... I think we got lucky and they used a 22 from a long enough distance that while the bullet penetrated but took his thick long fur in with it and when Porter moved his fur pulled the bullet out..

He should be fine.. the "incident" is on record and we will hope for the best...
How terrible! I hope there is a resolution for you soon. Glad to hear that Porter is on the mend, keep us updated :)

I got Porter back out to the barn about one and then ran in to meet the DW for her ultrasound... when I went back out tonight to do the chores, Porter was laying in the same spot in the barn that he was when I left this afternoon... He's alert but definitely not active... not normal for the big guy... I'll probably make a special trip out tomorrow sometime to check on him, give him another penicilin shot and some loving..

for those who caught it... we're having a girl..

Oh yes the chores---My DH had our oldest son (when he was a teen) move the giant woodpile to another side of the yard...then turn around and move it back. He Cried. "Why do I have to do that, it makes no sense??" Neither did half the things you did in high school dear son. LOL It is good for them. WE had caught this one using hairspray and a lighter to make "fireballs" in the house. After eating half the sugar bowl mixed with a few hot chocolate packets (with a spoon). Also when he was 8 he used a lighter to scare a cat out from under the bed and set the bed on fire by accident. So we were not messing around he had a LOT of senseless chores. He is 28 now and still does things that make no sense....knothead :rant So all those boys there in the middle?? You will be needing lots of rocks or woodpiles :p

Congrats, BirdGuy!
We have eight and I always thought that was a nice number. I must have missed how many boys/girls of each. We had six girls then two boys. Best thing we ever did.
