Idaho?

Funny that soft feathers come up today. I was sitting out in the chicken coop and petting chickens, more to see if they were doing the squat thing since it is time for them to lay. We have some lf cochins. Oh my but those feathers are sooooo soft! I swear they are as soft as the microfiber blankets and a lot poofier. :D

My boys have been bugging me to get a silkie, too... I love how soft my birds are!! it's actually kind of amazing how soft they are, especially the bantam cochins, they are poofy AND soft!!

Keep them away from me hahaha. Not even one touch.

That's how I feel about pretty much any chicken breed right now... I am maxed out and it drives me nuts because I would have at least 10 breeds if I had room!!
Help :) Any one interested in a bunny? My daughter and grandson raised Oxly and he has been an inside bunny for 2 years. She left to grad school and could not take him with her. I am allergic to him so the poor chum is not getting the attention he is use to. Super sweet little guy with lots of personality. He comes with his corner potty box and a water bottle. He is not a big guy.

ahhhh...he's cute, makes me miss having bunnies =)
I am from Pocatello!

WELCOME!!!
It is, he was the funkiest looking little guy. His name was Half Squat cause he was half the size of everyone else his age, but he was so cute. And a really nice personality too, I'm going to miss him
Oh, so sorry, I think the roosters have the best personalities, too, as long as they don't jump on you, lol My Blue Copper Marans roo is a great fellow, my boys can pick him up, and he is not small... Then there's Henry, the most awesome bantam cochin roo I got from Michelle, he just clucks away while you pet him

WELCOME!!!!

Yikes, long post before!!

Ok, I'm selling a young pair of Rhodebars I have... They are an autosexing bird, the hens are great layers of large light brown eggs. Autosexing means that they breed true from generation to generation, so you don't have to have certain birds to cross like sex-links.

Here's a pic of them as chicks, you can see how easy it is to tell them apart... The chipmunk stripe chick is the pullet, the lighter one with the headspot is the roo... They hatched on July 4th

Here they are now...

They are great foragers, I love the red barring, it is actually quite pretty....

I am asking $45 for the pair (I have seen out of state breeders ask $35-50 for a day old pullet chick, these are well-started!) PM me if interested, I'm happy to meet you in the IF area.

The boys are easy to get attached to I think :) They just have a bad rap in the chicken world, if they even make it to adulthood, and can find a home where they can stay...it is such a journey... you can't help but root for the little guys!

Tell me about I have 7 of them with only 13 girls. I don't want get rid of any of them but I think I will have to once they get older. So far everyone gets along great.

HUZZAH! Someone else from Western Idaho! welcome :D Is that your coop?
I am from Pocatello!

WELCOME! Glad to have you along for this crazy journey! :D
We extended our run today, they will be happy in the evenings now to still have room to wonder.

Still a work in progress as I need to put the rest of the roof up on the new 12ft section and now I can place the cement blocks around the outside (for predators) and plant flowers in them. :) Any ideas on bulbs that will come back yearly that aren't poisonous?

There is a coop and 3 houses now, just need to go buy another water tub.

Also finally got my first photo of my full flock. ;)

4 ducks and 2 chickens! Love them all! They thought I had treats so came noisily running my way.

Looking Good! I just love working on my coops and runs.. wish i was more adept, but i enjoy it just the same. my husband says "don't bother mom, she's chicken cooping.." lol.

speaking of ROOSTERS... i have a lil guy that needs a new home. I was hoping he was a pullet, but no such luck - darn it anyway. The woman I purchased him from swears he is a bantam ameraucana and that he hatched from a blue egg. I have not scrubbed the bottom of his feet to check if they are white or not.

Aww look at that face!
