There's a lady in Athol that sells silkie chicks, lots of different colors. Very great to work with. I'll check with her to see if I can forward you her number. Maybe she'll sell eggs.

It's funny seeing this photo pop back up. These two dilkies (Dorking/Silkies) are getting SO big now.

I'm actually in Eastern WA, about 5 miles from State Line. I find the weather conditions here are much more like Northern Idaho than Western WA, so I'm posting on the Idaho site! Hello to all in beautiful North Idaho, and any in Eastern WA here.

I've got a flock of 6 Black Australorps, one queen bee Gold Laced Wyandotte, and 8 ducks. Four of my ducks were hatched this spring by a Black Australorp. It was so cute seeing "mama chicken" with her little ducklings trailing after her. (My icon picture here is one of the ducklings, a cross of Cayuga and Khaki.)

Hello! Unfortunately, all I had at the time was a disposable camera, which I have not got developed yet. If I do, I'll post! I love Spirit Lake. I've run around all over North Idaho as I grew up here in Eastern WA. Priest Lake, Sandpoint, North Fork of Coeur d' Alene River, Kellogg, etc. Love it there.

The ducklings hung around mama for the first few months. Mom got very worried when they started going swimming, though. LOL When they were tiny, she would dig up bugs for them, cluck to them like, "Here's the food!" and they'd run over to eat it. Very good mama hen. Then came the confusion stage for the ducks. They couldn't quite figure out whether to hang with the chickens or the ducks! Eventually, they figured out they were ducks.
