Idaho?

Hi all

Wanted to pop into the Idaho thread since I'm always up there, used to live there, still have relatives up there and am always picking up chickens in the surrounding states...lol.

Hope everybody has a great day!!!!

YAY Chickenstock in 2 days!!

Anyone randomly interested in a free Black Copper Marans roo? He's gorgeous, but I can't keep the roos I get in my hatches (luckily it was only one this time).

I wanted to offer some ameraucana cockerel chicks for free if anybody is intereted. I have blue, black, and silver and they came in a st run order directly from John Blehm (the former president of the Ameraucana breeders club) and they weren't cheap but I don't need all 8 cockerels :) http://www.backyardpoultrymag.com/issues/2/2-3/John_W_Blehm.html

Attached is a pic of a blue boy. I actually waited for 2 years to get these birds since John's orders are filled fast.
Has anybody else ordered from him before?
I asked for all chicks hatched from the bluest eggs he had and I got a mix of black, blue, and silver chicks.
Could be some nice new genetics for somebody!

These can be brought to the IF chicken stock on Sat!!

I'm also looking for a BLRW started pullet and/or light (or coronation) sussex pullets if anybody has any available!
Does anybody have peachicks? (don't tell my husband I wrote that!)

Where is Chickenstock anyway? I can't find the thread. i may or may not be able to talk my husband into going. Anyone have a chick around 6 weeks old to be Star's friend?

Also looking for Welsummers,

...Black Copper Marans are supposed to be cold hardy huh? Well mine wasn't. Probably because she was too stupid to walk 3 feet into some shelter instead of huddling against the fence :/

it is in Idaho Falls at the fair grounds on saturday from 11am- I think around 5. I have some 8week (I will have two 6week old Gold Sexlink chicks in the mix if you would be interested in either of them) old chicks that I am bringing up to sell, I will have mainly pullets and also a couple rooster's but sadly I do not have any welsummers so I can't help you there. The 8 are different breeds ranging from the two sexlink's (both pullet's), 2 SLW chicks (one is a rooster), I am not sure (except for the white cochin) what the other 4 chicks are (besides the fact that they are pullet's.

Squeaky McMurdo try 2nd Annual Rocky Mountain Chickenstock May 4, 2013, that should get you there. If you can't make it and know of anyone that is going from your neck of the woods, you could always see if they would pick up any chicks you are interested in and bring them back for you.

I am new to this site and to the chicken world so I have a lot of questions. I actually live in Nyssa, Oregon but know more about what is going on in Idaho then Oregon. I haven't got any chickens as yet but I am thinking about getting the Light Brahmas does anyone have that breed? I am planning about a dozen hens and a rooster for starters but first I need a place to put them. I live in the country with mini horses, riding horses llamas, goats with 3 dogs and cats. I would like to have them free range with a coop where they can nest at night.

Did you do a search for Light Brahmas? There very well may be a thread dedicated to that breed.
