I know when I called two weeks ago to place my order for bantam frizzled cochins and silkies, she said they had just received word from the guys that all banties were sold until this week, but the web showed they could send some that week, so I'm sure they have trouble keeping the site updated according to what's available when. Definitely call them if you haven't heard anything yet.

And when I ordered my ducks from Cackle two of them arrived DOA too, so maybe it is a duck thing?

I got a confirm from them, but it listed only the requested delivery date, not an actual one. It listed all my order:
1 Grogel supp.
2 RIR
2 Gold Sexlink
1 Iowa Blue
1 Danish Brown Leghorn
1 Ameraucanas
1 Silver Laced Wyandotte

I spent hours on their site, because even if you don't hit the back button, if you take too long to select chicks, your cart will become wiped out. I finally just wrote down everything I wanted that was available for a few weeks on a piece of paper, and then when I was happy that I had it all figured out, I quickly ordered them and paid so they wouldn't be erased again. If it wasn't for the price, the selection, and the comments of others, I would have given up on ordering from them because their site is SOOOO inconvenient!

I also got a confirm from Paypal saying they received their payment.

I gave my cell as my contact #, and there's been no calls. I double checked, and triple checked the number.

There should have been SOME contact. Even if the stated availability is incorrect, most companies will tell you things are on back order. Now, I don't like to bust chops, but I at least expect a prompt response when it comes to irritated emails.

I'm calling.

So I called. They're being sent Wednesday. BOOYA!

I still think that a company should communicate delays a bit better, but at least it's now being quickly rectified.

I wonder how many BYC'rs are due chicks from Ideal (and other hatcheries) this week? lol

Guess we will all be dealing with youngersters in the cooler fall weather.

Last time I got an ornamental layer collection from McMurray and it was our first chickens, so I didn't care about the breeds or even really know what each one was. This time I ordered exactly what I have been wanting and don't have yet, so I am extra nervous for my chicks to get here safe and healthy! Funny how 4 months and a little reading changes things lol.

When I ordered mine in May, we had the coldest, wetest May in a long time, so chicks had to arrive in chilly damp weather. With it still being almost 90 during the days, I figured my new chicks would have a better chance. Wouldn't you know, our temp is 50 this morning!! My feet are freezing! lol Hope the babies stay nice and warm!

Oh my God, mine shipped today also. I was so hoping I'll get them tomorrow and not Friday. After all Georgia is not that far away from Texas. So there is hope...
I just can't wait any longer...
I think I'm the only crazy person who ordered 18 different breeds

I just love Ideal Poultry!! My whole flock came from Ideal. I live in Arkansas, and they said they would be delivered on Wednesday, and Wednesday it was !! My order has no losses!! My babies were frisky and hungry!! I called after I placed a on line order, just to make sure everything was in place. They were very friendly and helpful . I also found out one breed I wanted, that showed as 'out', had in fact became available !!! So make sure by placing a call to them if your breed is 'missing' on the list. I will be ordering a 12 or so Feather Legged Cuckoo Marans, and some Welsummers in the new year. I wouldn't go any place else for my new flock members,,,
