The reason you would have to wait that long is that the breed you want isn't available until that date. What breed are you trying to order? Did you call and confirm availability and that's how you know they're available in February? If they told you they were available in Feb and the website says May, I would just order on the phone and ask for a Feb ship date.

I’m ordering 4 golden Phoenix (2males2females) 2 Sicilian buttercups(female)and 2black sex links(female). I can wait but I want to track my order

Not a bad idea to get two roosters though in case one of the chicks dies, and/or to select the better one for breeding.

Edit, was referring to a comment that was deleted, they mentioned you will only need one rooster, will cover many hens.

I have only ordered mail order chicks once, from My Pet Chicken. Their policy is that before Mar. 27th (ish) there is a 15 chick minimum for warmth. After that date, you can allegedly order as few as 3. The 20 we ordered - (10 for us, 10 for a friend) came with a heating pad at no charge. So maybe in addition to "including a male for warmth" Ideal also has a minimum chick order before May?
