Ideal Poultry Males for Warmth?

silkiechicken I had to add a coffee mug to bring up the price to order them it was either that or a picture book. And when they mark them how do they mark them a black dot on there head saying they are male?

They'll put a mark on their heads, but it might not necessarily be black.
With Ideal you can check the box for little labels of what was put in the box, a different little label for each breed. On that label they'll also use the same color marker to put a "check". For example, the label for some brahma chicks might have a green check on it. That will be the same color as on the chicks head.

Hope that makes sense.

ETA: In this pic you can still see the orange mark on my little brahma roo's head:

I ordered over 50 chicks from Ideal for March delivery. they said I had a quarter of a box and will add roo chicks for warmth.

Really? I ordered 25 hens for the beginning of March and they told me that they would not be adding warmers in my order because I reached a quarter box, Should I be prepared for some males, I actually wouldn't mind a couple males but prefer the breed I already ordered.

That's really strange. I would PM Teri @ Ideal, she's a BYC member. I've ordered 25 and got 25. Ordered 14 later in the year and got 14.

I have 12 pullet chicks ordered from Ideal and I specified no males for warmth. The sales person I spoke with said she would simply add $1.75 for insurance when you don't want males included.
