Ideal run fence

See i have never had weasels try to get our birds just opossums and coons both in Oklahoma and Florida. The coop they have here is the fist to be inclosed and compleatly secured. In oklahoma it was open and we never locked it.
Im not the best to helo with the weasel issues. But it sounds to me your best bet would be the smallest cloth all around View attachment 1227969 *this is not my photo*
with it in dirt too like this photo here.

An apron wouldn't stop weasels, only a full fence. Aprons are made to stop digging predators like coyotes and foxes. The best bet is to weasel-proof your coop if they're an issue in your area. The run will be fine if they're only in it during the day.

The coop is tight(a rat got in from under the barn wall and crack in a sidewalk, but possibly solved, buried more wire). The current covered run will be converted to more coop and that will be completely wrapped in hardware cloth.

I don't want to do any of this again so the goal is do it right. Famous last words!

I mis-worded my last post, what i ment was all of it(the whole thing) in hardwire cloth with it also going in the ground to help out with the other preditors that may be there too.
But im not an expert for what is in your area or on the subject.
I hope you find the best plan and supplys to help you.

Ah okay.
My current run is welded hexagon mesh like chicken wire, but much stronger. I have 2 layers of it. 1 foot apron stapled to the ground around the whole perimiter (1"), with 2 feet of that going up. Then I have 5' of 2" welded mesh straight up. Hardware cloth would've been ideal, but I was using metal rebar as posts.

I would use 1/2 hardware cloth for the whole run and put 2 x 4 on the bottom 4 ft (for bigger predators)or both for the whole run.
I used industrial shelving racks(with 2 x 4 openings) on the bottom 4 ft of my run and 1/2 hardware cloth over it, to the top of my run. I covered the run with poly carb panels.
