Seems the hardware cloth is a must. Maybe just that plus a hot wire in case the coyotes get bold?

See i have never had weasels try to get our birds just opossums and coons both in Oklahoma and Florida. The coop they have here is the fist to be inclosed and compleatly secured. In oklahoma it was open and we never locked it.
Im not the best to helo with the weasel issues. But it sounds to me your best bet would be the smallest cloth all around View attachment 1227969 *this is not my photo*

Ah okay.I mis-worded my last post, what i ment was all of it(the whole thing) in hardwire cloth with it also going in the ground to help out with the other preditors that may be there too.
But im not an expert for what is in your area or on the subject.
