BANG!!! BOOM BAAAA yea oh wait (STINK KILLING ME!!!) I QUICKLY GOT IT AWAY CANDLED THE OTHERS ALL I CAN SEE IS BLACK THEY DONT STINK BY THE WAY!!!
YUCK

I feel your pain. I had many broodies last year and in Ocober I broke my foot so I was in the coop with my crutches and the dreaded boot on and one smelled funny so I picked it up and accidently dropped it. I mean it exploded and the stink was so bad I had to put bleach in my boot and scrub my leg and thought I was going to have to throw my clothes away. It was wore than the broody hen poop.

Sounds like there is something in the other eggs.

Hope she comes back soon, but luckily u got that egg out from there. That would have been bad.

Same here I hope she comes back well I will keep updated I will just finnish my school work and I will go find her. Good Idea?

Oh I am so glad. I didn't want to turn off my phone to charge it. You will hopefully get a few chicks soon.

This is really imbarrising but what do you mean you dont want to turn off your phone to charge it?

I turn off it off to charge the battery cause I heard it isn't good for the battery to charge it while it is on.

Am I guessing right that you didn't want to turn off the phone until you saw the update?

"Mama Hen knows what she's doing" is correct most of the time. I would leave them alone until hatching is done. When the chicks are a few days old, Mama Hen will take them on their first walk about. That will be the optimum time to clean the cage. At the very least wait until the babies are able to get out of the nest without freezing.

Have you been reading around the raising chicks forum?

Good luck on the hatch!

Hello They WERE ROTTEN!!!
I put 4 fertile ones in this morning though should be here by the 14 of March! I am so exited and I will keep some threads around so you can read them and see how they are going!!!

Its going to go so, so, so fast because we are going away to Adelaide for a week and so that will put her off my mind! We are going there for my cousins WEDDING. I am the junior brides maid!

Wish me luck

Oh, so sorry about the non-hatch! There is a thread about telling if your eggs are fertile. It has great pictures.

Not trying to be nosy, but do your hens have really fluffy butts? There is a possibility that the fluff could interfere with the mating. A few of my older hens have really dirty hind ends. I trimmed some butts this evening, mostly to remove some poo. Soon as it warms up it will be bath day!

Enjoy the wedding. Remember shaving cream should never be put on the front windshield of a car. Put it on all the other windows, lol.

"Close" as in "not the other side of the state"? Yes, lol. I think it would take me most of two hours to get there IF the traffic was good. I'm in the West side of Suffolk, very close to Franklin.

We are working on breeding pens and houses to divide my flock so I can offer pure breed hatching eggs. I love my hatchery birds and I don't plan to invest a lot of money in breeder or show quality birds yet. Too many foxes and hawks just yet.
