I live in the city and I AM allowed to have roosters unless the neighbors complain. I have heard that roosters don't crow until they see light, but I don't know if that is true. I was thinking I could enclose the coop so no light comes in until 7 or 8 in the morning. Does anyone know if that will work? Or do you have any other ideas?
I really need some help!!!

That's all I can think of. Keep it dark may be the best way. However, will that be a problem in the heat of Summer? They will need ventilation.

yeah I was thinking of that, I guess I would have to pull the covering off early to let air in

Keeping it as dark as possible will help, but keep in mind that in the summer, it gets light really early. Mine are crowing by 5AM right now. You can insulate the coop, which will help with noise as well. Or you can house him in your garage overnight in a cage or box that has ventillation.
