If you are warmer than -58........

joedie

That wasny two summers ago was it? That year we had rain in my town for 32 days straight! My inlaws were here then also...poor SC blood they were freezing!!

I do NOT envy you at all. Just to give you an idea of the difference in climate here = I work 22 miles from home. Left work it was 61, at home it is 39. Interesting! It can snow here and be sunny and warm at work.

On the same note... people that choose to live in places that they KNOW easily have 4-6 or more months of horrible cold weather shouldn't complain... had a friend recently move to Minnesnowta and she's not loving her first winter there... especially when it's too cold for her Texas Born & Bred kids... all FIVE of them... to play outside. Egads!

Other hand... people who move to Texas, Arizona, Louisiana and then whine about the summer heat... REALLY..? You had NO idea that a swamp would be humid or a desert would be hot? OY.

Please tell us all where the perfect place to live is. Not too hot, no humidity, no dry heat, no snow.

Well shoot darlin' that's easy... an RV.

Sorry, couldn't resist. My Mems has one, and has for years and years and I can just HEAR her saying that.

Honestly it totally depends on your tolerance. I can handle 105 heat WAY better than 25 cold... I mean WAY better.
But then other folks sweat like crazy at 70 but are snug as a bug when it's 30.

Some figure cold is easier 'because you can always add another layer, but even nude you're sweating' while others say heat is easier because 'you can jump in a pool, but it's hard to drive/walk/etc when you look like the StayPuft Marshmallow Man and also notice that FLU season is during the COLD months, not July"

99.9% of the time I'm happy where I'm at. Every now and again I gripe, but mostly it's when we get odd weather (for us)... like this latest batch that dropped us into the teens... that's pretty darn cold for this area. Or, the snow on Christmas... I think that's happened maybe twice in the last hundred years. But, if I moved to North Dakota I'd have no one to blame but myself when my tootsies got frostbitten. Or if I moved to Arizona and my petunias had to be traded in for a cactus.

I am not complaining about my -58 I love it. I was simply hoping to help out those who are not used to any mild cold weather see a bright side of the temps they are dealing with.

I also don’t think its "horrible cold weather" as you stated. I happen to like the cold and love where I live. I am glad that most people can not and will not live here; I don’t tend to share very well.

Sorry my post didn’t give you the warm and fuzzy feeling I was hoping to pass along.

Ok that was funny! I actually love living where I live. July and August are killers though. September is tolerable. So it isn't nearly as bad here as the humidity in the south or the extreme temps that Tomboy is dealing with. However, I am NOT one for any heat and praise God that our AC works wonders.
