i got my baby chicks from tractor supply and now they are laying eggs. i've heard tales that say the give the chick a special medicine so you cant incubate their eggs so u have to go buy more. is this true? cuz i rlly want some more baby chicks.

I would say there is no truth to that. Of course, you need to have a rooster to fertilize the eggs, but other than that you should be fine. Urban myth.

never heard of that!!! must have a rooster to complete the process

I have TSC chickens and their eggs are HIGHLY fertile(have cracked more than my share of eggs with little babies growin) No hatches yet but have some in the bator as of last night! I say go for it!

Also consider the age of the girls when you callect the eggs for hatching; you'll see eggs for sale from reputable breeders are from hens 1-2 years old. Younger hens apparently don't produce the best eggs for hatching.
