My dad does this ALOT.
He argued with me the other day that the correct term for a chickens CROP is actually called a CRAWL. I had to show him the definition of a crop to get him to shut the heck up lol

don't stress, life is too short. never let anyone get your feathers in a fluff!

your parents probably thought they were being helpful. and most birds do have alot in common, so maybe they assumed too much.

and don't chat up about quail to them anymore. best way to avoid these types of things is don't say anything...LOL---that is what I learned.

I am sure he meant CRAW

it is a word used for the crop of an animal. Simple as that...he must have been saying it a bit different.

Remember the old saying----got something stuck in my craw?
That is an old timer saying. So your dad was right!

I know what you mean though....if I had a one on one with my parents and found out they were right, no way I would say anything.
