phones can be a pain
yes please
any idea what caused it?
I once had a lav orp with a leg deformity. The chick pipped but never hatched. It's peeping was sounding weaker, so I helped it out. The leg was fixed in a strange position. Not sure if the shipping had anything to do with it. (Eggs were shipped from CA. ) The other lav orp egg from the same batch died in shell & I couldn't see a cause. The chick fluffed out & ate a little, but there was no way for it to move around and eat/drink for itself.

My best guess is the shipping caused irreg air cells in both which maybe caused cramped conditions.

poor thing

and I have shipped eggs due to hatch friday only 2/12 had good air cells.. hope I don't get any like that

It's an old phone and just doesn't have enough memory.

Of course "old" is being used liberally here since it's only like 2-3 years old I think. Of course for technology ages fast.

Problem is half the memory came full of stuff that I couldn't delete in the first place.
Old.....:lau

We both know I'd win that one.
I'd take a pic to show you my OLD phone..... if my flip phone had a camera. It's 11+ years old.

However my computer works OK. It's one of the perks of having a spouse in IT. The downside is that everything we own was thrown out by someone else and re-purposed.

If I was hard-hearted, I would have let it die in the incubator. I had to cull the chick, since I knew it would not likely survive. Sometimes shipped eggs are great and other times you may get zero chicks.

Speaking of shipped eggs... I broke down and bought some Coronation Sussex eggs. Sometimes I still miss our big beauty and I happened to find some online. I'm not going to breed them, but hopefully I can sell the chicks and keep one for myself. They're shipped eggs, so it's always a gamble. However the recent 100% hatch has made me optimistic.

Sending strong hatching vibes your way! :fl

I'm happy to say I have happy chickens now. I didnt get a before picture (forgot my phone, but good not to gross you out) but heres an after.

Just imagine poo all over the walls, windows and 2 inches of it all over the floors. It was nasty and reeked! Ebony was so happy, she immediately laid an egg!

The baby sportzington chicks are growing up nicely. It looks likev3 pullets in the dreaded buff color and the roos were the pretty black and white ones. One of them and two of the girls have a barring pattern on them. Interesting!

Couldn't get a picture of the other two. They were being camera shy.

Is that fine wood shavings? I only find the pine shavings which are much larger...
