Best of luck. I fortunately didn't have to work for a change in laws. I would however like to push for an increase in the number of hens we can keep or for roosters to be legal.

I share the same predictions.
Pics
1 lav = likely male due to large comb
2 lav = male b/c wattles look red AND the comb's a bit large
3 black = female with a very girl-ish face
4 black = likely female but could still surprise you and turn

The kids got to have their eggs auctioned off this evening. Both are very happy.

DS's eggs came from his hens Tillie & PoofPoof (well mostly Tillie since she's a leghorn.)

DD's eggs came from Wendy the Welsummer.

DS also entered our Orpington eggs. They won a blue ribbon & (I think) class champion. Right now, all our best eggs are at the fair, some were used for baking entries, and the bantams are broody, ..... we don't have many eggs left to eat at home. LOL (Don't worry, we'll have plenty in a couple days.) And of course the kids are very excited about the price they earned.

Our incubator is running. We set 41 quail eggs. We set the eggs in 2 batches: 27 eggs initially and then 14 more eggs three days later. We have 10 days left on the initial 27 eggs, 13 days on the other 14 eggs. We pulled 3 today after candling, not sure which batch they are from though... I really should've marked the eggs.
I realixed today though the first batch of eggs are due to hatch on 8/8, when I'll be out of town. DW will have to manage the hatch for me. (She's probably going to actually be thinking ).

Don't you hate it when you realize that they were set at an inconvenient hatch date. I have pulled the eggs because of that
