Illinois...

I guess we're keeping this little pullet, "Coge". (Even though I suspect she's the one who made the tiny egg..... It could have happened several days ago.)

As you can see, DS is so in love with her.

This was a picture my son sent me just before I got home. It got even worse.

How is everyone doing with the rain?

6 " of rain, again....had same over last weekend. But this was over a day. Creeks are back in their banks, but low areas have standing water.... Rain again tonight
Took the dog out at dawn to check fences. Turkeys were still in the trees. When I came back a jake was hanging by a leg on a 6' dividing fence. He is limping but seems ok otherwise. I am going to take that fence down because this is the second time one has flown down and gotten hung up on it. Several have smacked into it. It will be easier to get the tractor in there too.

I didn't take a picture, but I believe the duck egg I had for breakfast was fertilized. There was an obvious bullseye and red dot on the yolk. I am not certain I want to incubate them right now though. It would br finn to hatch some ducklings in the Spring though, perhaps for sale or to stock the freezer.
