Illinois...

Here was a chick I didn't sell because I thought it was a male.
5-6 weeks old:

Same chicken at 5 months. Comb and wattles never grew but the rest of her did.

This usually happens to me about once a year. However, it's usually light colored birds (lav or white) For some reason those appear to have more contrast in their flesh color than the blacks. These tricksters are also usually descendants of Jewel. (Which means they grow up to be big beautiful hens)

Morning . I want to plant green beans in early May weather permitting .
Never know about the weather anymore. Frost tonight they say.

I usually start my own tomatoes and peppers to set out. Well I did but the dog got sick and I had to put him down on the 17th... I forget about watering the plants and now I have no tomatoes or peppers. :barnie

One of my white meat mutt chicken hens died yesterday.

Caught 2 of the calico turkey hens, someone is supposed to pickup today. 16 turkey hens are too many, 6 would be enough.

Sold 2 DZ turkey eggs yesterday and 1 DZ meat mutt chicken for hatching.
