Illinois...

I put galvanized wire across the front of the duck pen and thought they were finally contained. Nope! They are all on the lawn today. They squeezed their fat bodies through the white vinyl feve on the other sides of the pen. I especially didn't think the drake child grey through since he is the fastest, but even he is on the lawn today. I read somewhere that rouens were developed in France as "living lawn ornaments." While I don't fully believe that to have been the purpose of the breeding program, they due do live up to the description to a fault.

1 more pic... I thought I should share a pic of the ducks since I was discussing them in the last post. Here's three of the four (fourth one is barely showing on the far right actually), including my handsome drake. He really needs a name. Any ideas?

You know all I can think of is Donald and Daffy :gig

You need to fatten up a lil more so they will be self basting :gig :old
They don't have names either...

For a small fee, I can name all four of your ducks:caf:yesss:
I have this book,

OK now for some serious news.
I have a pair of ducks that visit my feeder daily for dinner. Always assumed they were Mallards, but maybe they are Ruens like yours. They do fly off very well though. So I'm wondering which are they,,, possibly runaway Ruens, or Mallards:idunno
