I would call your town hall. I am right near you in Plainfield. We have a limit of 8 hens, no roosters, and need to complete an application one time that had a $25 processing fee. Online that was a lot of legal jargon, but a pawing call got me the answers I needed in just a few minutes.

@Molpet Chicken eggs went into the incubator to join the turkey eggs for hatch day. Expected hatch day is 4/29. I'm sort of hoping they hatch on 4/28 though. We couldn't get the eggs into the incubator until Monday rather than Sunday. I haven't tried candling the turkey eggs yet. I'm waiting until this Thursday as that will be 10 days.
@Faraday40 how are your turkey eggs coming along? Have you attempted to candle any yet?

I put a dz turkey in on 4/5 .. I was trying to sell some eggs but people say i am too far.. may have to go CL..I was putting it in closed FB farm groups

I haven't candled yet. My turkey eggs went in last Wed. The chicken eggs get set at the schools tomorrow. Since the incubator temp drops when eggs are first added, I'll return to the schools to put the turkey eggs in later in the week.

@Gdnurse This is an interesting article about Will county allowing chickens. If you are unincorporated Shorewood you should just need to follow county rules. However, if you are in incorporated Shorewood I have not been able to find anything regarding chickens.
