well the 2nd cornish didn't zip more than a quarter of the way and stopped moving
The 3rd egg is just sitting there

So I debated about raising the 2 in a brooder but the moose is so active and jumping on the cornish. He needs some discipline and enrichment.. so I decided to see if the broody with one would take them. I put them in just before sunset... Content little trills and she is taking care of all 3 this morning

But the mama turkey was missing a poult this morning.. finally found it dead out of the coop about 20 ft away. The coop is 24 ft long and she was keeping them in the back part. It must have ran out out last night before lockup because it was soaked from the rains. I hadn't heard it peeping and didn't realize it was missing.

Here are my new babies. We’ve had them a couple of weeks. I wish they could temporarily slow down their growth. It’s just been too wet and muddy out to build their coop. They are living in my house. Which is cute and fun. But they need to be going out soon.
Well that’s my current problem.
I am absolutely in love with each one. So far I don’t think one will be a rooster. But time will tell.

Sorry you aren't having much luck with the hatch and lost a poult.

So far today I've vomited her to try and get all that nasty water out as her crop was still very full this morning. The fluid that came out was dark gray almost black. I hope getting it out helps her feel better.

She did have the biggest poop I've seen from her in about 3-4 days this morning. So hopefully whatever has stopped her up is finally moving. I hope.

She's not happy being locked up and keeps escaping her box. So far so good since last time I fixed it.

DH2B got very frustrated when he tried to put her back and she kept jumping out so I had to take over. He cares about the birds and especially Pebbles because he knows she's my baby girl but doesn't have the patience for the birds that I do. He's not mean or anything but gets frustrated and we all know when frustrated working with animals things get worse. LOL. Plus he was running late after lunch.

She has access to food and water but hasn't shown any real interest yet.

I may need to learn to tube feed if she doesn't show improvement in the next couple days. I will try some with a syringe later. I wanted her to have the chance all day first.

I guess we'll see if it dries out the rest of this week like it's supposed to for us.

I have in my medical no tube feeding for me. Not sure if I would for a favorite bird or not. I try not to get attached, but I have 2 friendly isa browns that should be in the stewpot. I guess they have a retirement home instead.

She seems better since yesterday. Her crop wasn't very full this morning and I chose not to vomit her.

She ate my special sick chicken mixture all on her own today eating well over half of what I had mixed up. Her poops are looking more solid and she is actually talking to me which she hasn't done in about 4 days. She's also working on cleaning her butt herself although I think she still will need some help.

She's not going back outside yet but she does seem much improved. I have a little more hope for her today.


That said this morning I noticed my white blue partial laced Columbian English orp cockeral is under the weather. He was laying in the yard doing absolutely nothing and seeming lethargic. He didn't have anything in his crop but maybe a bit of water. He is somewhat thin(which is totally covered by his huge size and fluff) and open mouthed breathing but has no other symptoms of respiratory illness or anything else.

He had some of the sick chicken mixture and it seems to have perked him up marginally. I haven't seen him poop.

Also I haven't to say I wouldn't tube feed unless there is a chance they would come out of it healthy on the other side. We've never had to tube feed before.

The cockeral is on my list for one of my next breeding groups. I hope he makes it and gets well soon.

Yes that usually is a sign of a heart issue.
I have lost a lot of my CX mixes to that. I figure it's better to lose them rather than pass on the possibility it's genetic
