My Cookie was like that. I attempted to prevent her from going broody for about 6 months before giving up. I found that breaking her was more difficult and took longer than just letting her hatch. Whenever I did break her from sitting on eggs, she really just waited for 3-4 weeks, maybe laid 0-2 eggs then went broody again. All I really did was postpone the hatch. Letting her go through the whole broody cycle was faster. When she finished a few months later, she usually gave me 3-4 weeks of daily eggs - then started the broody cycle all over again.Millie was broody all winter! She went broody about 5 minutes after laying her first egg and basically lays every day for a few weeks, then goes broody until I break her, then lays every day for a few weeks, then broody jail. I never thought for a split second that she would just NOT be broody. The whole reason we decided to get more chicks was to let her raise them. LOL!!
