Illinois...

I think we just got a lot of wind and lightening here too. Definitely got enough rain to make mud but not too bad. It was weird being at the airport when they locked down. Our flight out of Baltimore was delayed several hours to begin with because of the weather here (which turned out to be a bad call because if we'd left on time, we'd have made it long before the storm). They kept anyone with connecting flights in Baltimore because Midway was already cancelling all outgoing flights and there would have been nowhere for all those people to go. So then we take off with a half empty plane about 3 hours late, make decent time, but have to re-route and descend early to get out of the storm. So we flew over most of IN and some of central IL low enough where I could see houses and roads. 😳 We land and the only people there are sleeping at gates because no flights are going out. Then we all had to just stay in the baggage claim area for about an hour waiting for the lightening to clear so they can get the bags off the planes. We had a great trip but were definitely happy to be home!

The Broody Bunch Update:
Can you count the number of full-time setting hens I have?

If you counted 8, you're right!
Technically there are 2 more that pile in at bedtime. Poor rooster is all alone. No hens left sleeping on the roost.

OMG this rain!!!!!!! I have shop vac'd about half a dozen times today but it just keeps coming down. I'm over it!! Glad I haven't planted anything outside yet or the little bits would be washed away. The big girls are okay but the babies are on the coop floor and it does get wet. Millie is keeping them inside the plastic bin but she's irritated as I am over this. I just keep going out there and sucking up more water. Uncle!!!!!!
