Actual Araucana's lay a diverse assortment of eggs. They could be blueish or greenish. I have yet to see 2 Araucana's lay the same color. (No, I'm not talking about EE's.)
You always take a chance of getting shipped eggs. Its gets around 150+ plus in those trailers! AND Araucana's have fertility problems anyway because they don't have tails.
Yes, I'm aware of all that, thanks. I'm not here to complain about him, or rehash all the emails between me & larry, I was just trying to let another member know what I got when I bought from him. I had better luck with eggs that came all the way from CA. I thought IL would be less traumatizing for the eggs. I will say, though, that I requested his bluest eggs, and he said he couldn't tell me which ones those were (I think what he meant was he doesn't keep track of who lays what eggs and that I wanted blue chickens not eggs), and I requested that he wait for cooler weather to ship, and he said it wouldn't bother them and shipped anyway.
I'm sorry.
I just wanted to let the other poster know what I experienced with the
ebay seller.
I hope you have better luck.
I've had chicks missent that came from Ohio and they went to TN then MO then here in IL.
He's very wrong on the heat not bothering eggs. I just got eggs from RevolutionMama here on BYC and shes in Kansas and when I got the eggs 2 days later we had rotten eggs. I've thrown more than half away because they were rotten.
Oh I wouldn't dare let him ship those eggs because I would want to travel down there and look at their birds. Because in some of their pictures I see blood on the ground.
