I'm a bad Ebayer...

Thanks alot for reaffirming what I thought. I guess I started feeling a bit bad and unsure because I know what can happen at the PO. Thanks for letting me know I was right and not just being a hard butt. In my feedback I did describe the packaging so that people will know if they look and check feedback information. That may be what made him so mad.....he doesn't describe his packing method in the auction - just says that he does a good job. I'm sticking to my guns on this one! Thanks for the backup - it's good to know others share my opinion! I love my BYC family!

You were right to leave negative feedback ~ those eggs were poorly packaged.

The PO did this to a box of eggs I got off this site ~ but because the seller had packed them properly in lots of bubble wrap with extra padding all around, not a single one out of 28 was broken.

I saw this pic and had to comment. I see where it is crushed and it is marked fragile. Today I recieved a package from a BYCer, thank fully not eggs. It was marked fragile and actually had a hole in the side where it had been crushed. Thankfully the contents, though glass, was all intact. It makes you wonder why they even bother to ask you if it should be marked fragile!!??

To the OP. You should not feel bad at all. There is no way those eggs would have made it undamaged mailed that way. My husband ordered some eggs from Ebay for me and I was impressed how well they were packaged. Each one was individually bubble wrapped and packed in paper shred. Definitely the way to go. I am sorry your experience was bad.

NO NO NO NO!!!!
you are not a bad e-bayer he is a terrible e-bay seller.

If you paid by paypal contact them and they can get your money back.

You wrap eggs individually with large cell bubble wrap...you don't put them in a carton full of newspaper shreds. Sheesh.

Just to update everyone, I filed a claim with ebay/paypal and I won. I got every cent back too - including shipping. Very happy with the results. I can tell you that this seller has no more neg feedback, but some of it is saying that lots of eggs are broken and asking for a resolution. I don't know why they would leave positive feedback until the issue was at least responded to or resolved by the seller. If he offered them a refund I could see it because he attempted to work something out. Oh well..... Thanks everyone who supported my decision, and extra "thank you's" to those who suggested filing a claim to get my money back!

I'm a little late in finding this but, if you haven't already, I suggest you e-mail him a link to this thread so he can see that ABSOLUTELY NO ONE on a PUBLIC FORUM thought his packing was even remotely acceptable. Somewhere there was a thread on here about worst ever packing of shipped eggs, and I swear the "winner" looked just like the picture you posted - wouldn't be surprised if it was the same seller.

And as a footnote, I too find it frustrating when people don't leave neg fb on E-Bay. I think this goes back to sellers leaving retaliatory fb - for years you didn't dare leave a negative, because you knew you were going to receive one and wanted to protect your own fb score. But E-Bay changed this, and now sellers can't leave negative fb. But I think a lot of buyers are still too intimidated to leave a negative. Thank you for standing up, not only for yourself, but for the next unsuspecting buyer. No telling how many people you've saved from being ripped off!
