crane fly? BLAH... that's the fiber of the venus fly trap world. If you love your plant you'll give it something nice and juicy like a gorged house fly!

When our fly traps were on good behavior we would give them little chunks of ground beef!

Oh man, I wish I knew how to post pictures on BYC. (I can on FB) I have a carnivorous bog garden in a whiskey barrel thingy. I have various pitcher plants in it that are blooming. Its really cool!

I'm a terrible human being because I wanted to take a pic of a cranefly with it's feet sticking out the top... and was sad when two of it's legs fell off.

Pitcher plants are almost as cool. Sundew plants are pretty cool too.

Woah! That is so cool! I've always wanted one of those but couldn't ever find a place to buy a plant.

Talk about small, that thing is in a 3 inch pot, so the largest trap itself is like 2cm.

I had to go on a waiting list at a nursery to get my sticky fingers on one. Also on a waiting list for a sundew at some point.

I don't htink anything would really happen if you stick your finger in it other than setting off the trap. It is a plant so is rather soft compared to us.

I had one of those when I was a kid! They were sooooo fun! I killed by feeding it to many bugs LOL. I loved to watch it eat.
