i'm afraid my eggs won't hatch, help me calm down a bit :D

yeah, seems like he is continuing to unzip now, maybe he was just resting before continuing :) i'll check on him tomorrow morning, hopefully he makes it :)

Do you think it started to zip, or still just working on the pip hole?
Because in my opinion, once they start to zip, they should continue and complete the zip without too much resting. An hour at most. But I’m talking actual zip. If it’s just a pip, then it may be ok.

he has made a fairly big hole, i can clearly see him inside, it's not a proper zip, but i think he's starting to unzip, as he's now working on the sides instead of on the back like he was before :) i can see his little beak popping in and out of the egg and he seems to be doing just fine at the moment. he may be a little weak since he's a bit late and the temperature in the bator was a bit low, but i think he'll be able to get out of there without help, even if he'll struggle a bit. I'll leave him there until tomorrow when i wake up (in about 9 hours) hopefully he'll have made it by then :)

I read your original post but didnt read all the other pages. So if this has been covered, my apologies. If I open incubators during lock down I lightly mist the inside of the incubator and on the top of the inside to keep humidity up. Opening during lockdown isnt too important as long as you dont keep the incubator opened for too long and dont do it often. On hatch day I always mist inside the incubator everytime I open it up. Hope your hatch is going well!

Hi :) i didn't do this because the humidity in the bator is actually lower than the humidity outside (60%vs75%) but thanks for the advice anyway, i'm sure it'll be useful in the future. Right now i have 1 hatched quail and another one is unzipping, even if i'm not too sure what he is doing at the moment (read my last messages). :)
