I think it is a pullet. I have a red sexlink hen who's tail sticks up and has the same posture!

I would like it to be a pullet, because it's gorgeous. I'm a sucker for feather footed, big soft feathered chickens!BAHAHAHAHAHA....we sooooo want them to be pullets/hens....it's a wonder we don't end up in padded rooms.![]()
Your the first person I've found here that has langshans. Very pretty. Do you think mine is a langshan? It doesn't look Cochin to me, it has long legs and upright tail. No rounded appearance that I see on Cochin. Here's a splash Langshan pullet at about 6 mos and a black roo at 3 mos if it helps.View attachment 1105242 View attachment 1105244 View attachment 1105245
My $.02 is that's a hen.

I got my chickens at a small, local hatchery. I called them when I realized my bird wasn't a Cochin and asked which other feather footed breeds they had and croad langshan was one. They assured me that they don't let their breeds mix, except of course the chicks that hatch. And it's entirely possible that I was given a langshan instead of a Cochin. It's a Langshan. The upright tail is a breed characteristic, and the long legs as well. Whether it's 100% langshan or not? Idunno.
