I'm confused...

OK, I have epsom salt, something I always keep on hand for me and my clumsiness in the kitchen. How long for each soak give or take? And would more then a couple times help or hinder?

I am very happy to have that piece of information azygous. I figured if it was going fall off as you've said. My fear was bleeding and knowing it would be painful. I am very happy to know that the chicks body will actually cut that section of from the rest the body.

I did figure by looking at it, She would probably lose it. She is young enough that should she get through ok, she will easily learn to adapt to the lose.

I was going to ask another question but have since lost it. Thank you so very much. Oh I remember now. Do you have an estimate on the time this process would take and other things I should watch for? I will be even more attentive then usual with their feet. I'm probably out 10 plus times a day checking kids. Last trip for the night usually around midnight. A 3am visit isn't unheard of.

I love your posts! The mama sounds like she Is doing well, and I love that you have chicken friends! Me too! I get so used to the personalities of certain ones, it’s hard to say goodbye!

My Little Lady will pick on me while I am trying to do their water. Pecking on my back until I bring her around and pet her. Pip Squeak on the other hand will just push in between my knees and tuck her head at my hip and wait patiently for me to pet her. The other 2 girls are a bit more temperamental and only want attention when they want it.

Last post for the day... Maybe... I'm wore out and still need to get my dinner going.

Rather then going back to the post and editing there. I will just put the URL here. Someone else on the site says the video is working fine. I can't get it to work for me right now. Probably to do with my OS and/or browser.. Before anyone asks ;) Linux Mint OS Waterfox browser. Firefox lost my support.

Thank you, You are a blessing to me.

@azygous I'm noticing something different with that little girl with the toe issue. I noticed a couple minutes in on soaking her foot, she started acting like it hurt here. The water was warm but not hot.

I just went out to check on everyone and close the little door. I noticed she was holding her foot up like it hurt. She wasn't doing this before I soaked it.

Thoughts? Anyone?

I'm so mad at myself for not paying closer attention. It does sadden me that she is hurting because of me...

Ah, no, @Amy Moon , please don't feel sad you didn't notice this sooner. Feel glad you noticed it when you did, before it got way worse, and she can start getting better because you have started treating it! Sorry I do not have an answer about why she is holding it up now but my guess is, she might be doing that whether you had started treating it or not. Because, you know, it would have been getting worse anyway. But now that you ARE treating it, it can start improving. Does this make sense? Anyway, I do hope the best for her.

I can't think of any reason why warm Epsom salt water would hurt the foot. If anything, it should soothe it. It may have been a coincidence that it began to hurt when it did. It certainly isn't your fault.

You can give her a 81 grain aspirin for pain. Twice a day. You don't need to soak the foot. There isn't much of a chance it would help anyway.

Yes miss Amy Moon, it isn’t right to feel sad when you have done to the best of your abilities! We are humans!

Thanks everyone, I'm a strange one when it comes to animals. They don't ask to be put in situations. They look to us to care for them. And it really bothers me when I could have prevented something.

I don't typically look to quizzes and such online. But it does amaze me how accurate they can be when we are willing to look in the mirror and be 100% honest with ourselves. Even with the things we do not like, and I have many. I'm what they call a ISFJ-T

The first thing I've always asked is "how can I make your life easier". Knowing full well I will lose in the end. Do to things going on over the last several years. I am seriously considering heading out into the mountains for the 3rd and last time. I've awoken in a world I no longer know or understand. And I was so much happier living in the mountains for a couple years, twice.

Sorry for babbling. I'm in a weird place this morning. Thank you for all you folks have done to help me with the kids and the way I handle things.

May I ask, has anyone been able to get that video to work? I still can't get it to work for me. I want to delete it and try uploading again. But that would mean deleting someones comments. Even something silly like that bothers me. But I wanted to show my kids and setup.

Anywho, I'm sorry. I think I need to go spend the day with my kids and try to find some peace.

How on earth would I get 81 grains of aspirin for her? Something I don't keep in the house. So I need to know what I should buy and if I can't get it locally. It would probably take to long to get here..

81 grain aspirin is just another term for what they used to call "children's aspirin". It's on the pharmacy shelf with the regular aspirin and ibuprofen and Tylenol.

Many of us no longer recognize this world. You are not alone in your distress over it. I'm fearful humans are causing the extinction of species including our own, not to mention killing the planet. Everything is connected, and most do not see that. We kill a tree, we kill a forest, and killing a forest kills an oxygen supply. We may be able to perversely adjust to life without other species, but try to live without oxygen.
