sometimes, if I leave and egg or two in the nest, my BO will go broody. othertimes she does not care. I think it is entirely up to them

I have 3 in a broody pile right now. Their chicks should really be hatching out any day now. But every time I see a hen laying an egg I start to freak out! I have people waiting to buy eggs and it's just not happening right now. It's hard to explain to non-chicken people why the girls aren't cooperating with the egg laying. I also will have chicks out the wazoo since I have 2 bators running right now! I wonder who'll "win"?

But unfortunately they all 3 go to their new homes tonight. Quail_Antwerp is taking the magpie. Broody Buffy will probably go to sitting again shortly. I couldn't keep her off the nest last year even though she raised up 6 chicks from her first sitting.
