I'm getting the itch. Anyone want to hatch some eggs?

So ending the day and still no sign of the other 2 eggs hatching under my broody Peep...I am dying to know what's going on under there

Maybe when I wake up the 2nd egg that looked like it was at the same point of development will hatch????? At least in a bator you can peek in the window and see what's happening....LOL!!! Not with a broody

Yes there is! I had this happen in my classroom...we lost power overnight and didn't get it back until the next morning and I did have chicks that hatched! So do not give up hope

It may delay their hatch and not sure how the day of their development factors into all of this

Hopefully they all make it!!!

WOOOHOO!!! So my crazy hatch with my broody Peep...who's eggs were not supposed to hatch until next week according to person I got eggs from...got up super fast to take a poop break and I peeked at the eggs in her nest. Egg #2 is zipping out now!!!!!!

So excited!!!! I was so worried my poor little broody was going sit until next week on eggs while trying to care for her one chick that hatched. Hopefully baby #2 by tonight

It was a feather I saw on the egg...what a newbie observation mistake!!!! In my own defense though, I looked suoer fast because broody momma was running back to her nest

Back to thinking the 2 eggs under her will hatch in 6 days..poor broody momma..chick jumping all over her and sitting on eggs!

Just placed the eggs under the hen. She growled at me *normal* but didn't bite me *weird*. I don't think she's gotten up since last night, as I can't find the infamous 'broody poop' anywhere in her cage. *big dog crate*

I think this broody's on day 12. Candled her eggs, 2 are clear, 3 are dark inside and 1 egg's yolk is detached from the membrane, and it's floating from one end to another.

I raise quail out here on our farm and I always let the eggs set in a room temp. setting of about 75 degrees for two days with the pointy end down before putting them in the turner.. Jay

I thought I would update ya'll on my big pea hatch. 11 out of 11 India blues hatched today. Now I am waiting on the 2 black shoulder peas that I put in on the 14th, and the 2 remaining java peafowl that I put in on the 16th. The india blues hatched on day 26, so I don't know what to expect on the javas since they are supposed to take a couple of days less time. I will probably lock down tomorrow. Here is a pic of the 11 that hatched last night and this morning.

CONGRATS!!! I had 36 Georgia Giants to hatch this morning and still have 70 eggs in the bator and I'm hoping to get at least a 60% hatch rate. You just never know what will happen when you buy shipped eggs. Jay
