Well what a funny hatch we're having... One copper black with the thickest darkest shell pipped, zipped and burst out on day 23 morning, strong as anything! Followed by another CB who did the same in the afternoon, also the same dark shell but as number 2 hatched some sack was still attached which came straight off after a few steps, slightly wobbly on his feet & still taking time but fluffed up and getting there. Then overnight a Wellsummer went for it and we woke to a sturdy stripey redish chick. Then there's one welly which has pipped the wrong end and is taking aaages, but still breathing through pip. (took some shell away but left membrane as still absorbing vessels I'd say) another has had a tiny pip forever but is now chirping and looks like it might make a go for it on day 24 now.. And now some of the others which I was counting as a total loss are wobbling!! We think we may have had several power cuts during the "last week" so that could have thrown it all out of sinc. Goes to show it's not an exact science! A very good learning curb though! A bit of everything in this hatch!
