I'm getting the itch. Anyone want to hatch some eggs?

I'm having chick envy. Not even a pip still. I saw 2 wiggle when I just checked on them. I was screaming through the air holes to hurry up but they didn't listen

Wiggles means they are coming soon, just on their own time schedule...how rude to make you wait

I would leave them for now and candle at 5 days then remove any that had quit. Even though they are porous they still have a waxy like coating to protect them so it's worth a shot.

I had one last night that was struggling. Zipped about halfway and couldn't get any further. The zip just kept getting wider but not longer if that makes sense. After about 7 hours I pulled enough of the top of the shell off and within 10 minutes the little fuzzy finished getting out. So 6 babies! Hopefully there will be some signs of life from the last 4 when I get home.

Still nothing?

The 6 are doing good. 1 had pipped when I got home. No progress though. I moved the 6 to the brooder. They are so cute. I will try to get a pic later.
Congrats on your new chicks!!!!! Glad to hear they are doing well and sounds like they are getting more company soon

Just what I need. More stubborn chickens.

I'm to impatient for this! It's literally driving me nuts. On that note. I've been collecting barn yard mix eggs all week to pop in when these are done.

These are dorkings and supposedly sexable any guesses?
Cant help you with sexing them but OMgoodness how cute!!!

I have 20 in the bator, turn them by hand three times a day, decided to put the LED light to a couple and lo and behold, we have veining...day three and although I was back and forth on incubating I am glad I did it.. I sure miss the excitement of watching them grow!

End of day 21 or 22 depending how you count. And still no pips:(. Trying to be patient but it's hard not to loose hope.

If there aren't any pips have you tried to candle them? I have done that, make the room really dark, don't pick the eggs up if you don't have too instead hold the led light to the fat end of the egg, What do you see? Can you take a picture so some of us maybe can help in seeing what your seeing... Just a thought....

I'm sorry I haven't read thru this whole thread, I have had chicks hatch on day 22-24 because my temp got lower then it should have.
